Glen Oaks Parents and Guardians,

One of the most important goals in education is to develop strong, successful readers, with the ability to comprehend and think critically across content areas. A well-equipped literacy library, which allows teachers to access titles that match the interests, ability levels, and content needed, is critical to reaching this goal. Whether a student is a just-getting-started, emergent reader or with an experienced reader developing college-readiness analytical skills through discussing points based on text evidence, having sets of books to meet their needs is critical.

With this said, we have asked the PTA to support us in revamping our campus Literacy Library.  Much of the funds raised through the Spring Carnival will go to support this cause.  Please let me know if I can provide you with any further information related to this very important component of our school.  My hope is that we have a very successful carnival so we have ample funds for this need!

Sincerely,
Molly Hovan, Principal
